Physicians Leaving Idaho

I just heard on the news about my state's abortion law. We are very lucky to have some very good doctors here in Boise. I am just learning on the news that several physicians are leaving Idaho because of the strict and horrifying laws against abortion. Here abortion is outlawed and women can be charged with murder and get up to five years in prison. I knew I lived in a backward state, a red one at that, but wasn't aware of this horror. Women should have the right to choose what is right for them, not the government. And now women may not even be able to find a good OB/GYN or pediatrician in Boise. I'm glad this isn't an issue for my family but there are many here that it will be an issue. Idaho is a bright red state. I am horrified about what might be next.

It's ridiculous law, when baby not was born yet, just in the mother's bully, women completely can decide whether give birth or not.Such a law conflict with freedom and human right.Of course,i can understand why physicians move to other states.

I don't blame the doctors at all. Women should have the right to choose what they do with their bodies.

@celticeagle ,I don't blame doctors as well,in a sense,i can understand and sympathize them.Doctors migrated to somewhere else is right in the case of stupid law.

@celticeagle I think that in some situations, we must leave our homes and protest. I mean pacifical protests; it is not a matter of throwing stones or burning tires. Years ago I, along with a lot of people, had to work a lot and without fear to make dictator Pinochet go away. There are lots of laws that belong to 2 centuries ago everywhere. Your state has no right to say anything about some muslim countries that want to have the women´s faces hidden if you don´t start by giving rights to the women who live in your state and country.

@marguicha ..........Peaceful demonstrations don't seem to be the norm nowadays. They have to be violent. It has gotten way out of hand. Marjorie Taylor Greene is visiting Washington D.C.'s jail to speak out about the supposed foul treatment alleged Jan.6 rioters are receiving while they are being detained there waiting for their trials to come up. I just have to shake my head.

It's better to take precautions to prevent unwanted pregnancy. Abortion corrodes the uterus gradually which leads to cancer.

That is not good the doctors are leaving but good that they are standing up for how they feel you know?

I can't believe that law they passed. I read that a small hospital in Bonner just quit doing Ob/gyn at all, so women will have to go elsewhere.

@LindaOHio ........And some women can't afford to do that and shouldn't have to. They have to disrupt their lives.

I just think that we are heading somewhere that we will not be able to come back from. This is so sad.

@celticeagle Horrific describes it better. The worst part is that we are not seeing that we are heading there.
