We as kids never got to drink soups as our food culture was different Those who got to drink soups were the mothers who had delivered. They got chicken soup - reared at home The chickens were just a few months old.
Once we left the shores our eating habits changed in leaps and bounds and what we ate as kids was almost never heard of and we got introduced to soups and various other foods
I particularly like sweet corn and chicken soup made the Chinese way. I got accolades whoever tasted that soup made by me.
What is your favourite soup?

@LadyDuck I prefer clear soup with a little bit of shreds of chicken, mushroom, cockles or crabs. I prefer just a single main ingredient for my soups and invariably tomatoes get in there.

@allknowing The potatoes leek soup is blended, to make a minestrone the vegetables are cubed/shredded and cooked in broth. The more vegetable you have the better, I usually add carrots, celery, potatoes, borlotti beans, snow peas, peeled tomatoes, young spinach and green cabbage.

@allknowing depends on where I’ve had it. Usually the broccoli is very very small pieces but not quite completely blended.

I like so many...I think split pea is probably my favorite. Nothing quite like a good soup.

My relation with soups has changed with the years because my mother did not cook some of the soups that are favorite today. I like chicken broth in Winter and tomato soup.

Same here. Soups were never in our cuisine. It is only when I left the shores that I got introduced to several kinds. Tomato soup is one that can be blended with anything under the sun.

On the contrary, I grew up with soups frequently served by my mother every meal together with other food variant. Soups are part of our food culture and we have a lot of native soup dishes like sour soup, beef shank soup, chicken soup, fish soup, veggie soup and many others. Among my favorites are creamy mushroom soup and crab and corn soup with quail eggs and some other veggies.

@allknowing Oh yes, spot on nothing's just the good old basic that we used to know, now everything's levelled up with add on. You can add anything you want. And yes I like Indian cuisine too. Curry, Masala and Biryani
