Dropped off the casserole for my neighbors

They live next door and recently had a baby. I was talking to them last night and asked if they had any food preferences or allergies. The wife said that Italian is their favorite so I added ingredients to my Instacart grocery list that was delivered today. I made them a casserole of gnocchi, homemade marinara, sweet Italian sausage, baby spinach, and fresh mozzarella. It was a lot of food. I didn't bake it because I didn't know if she would want to bake it all at once or separate it into 2 separate portions and freeze one.
She, her husband, and I chatted for awhile about building drama, vacations and cruises, etc. Their baby girl started crying so the husband picked her up. She is so adorable. The wife was finishing up their dinner so I left them alone but not before telling them that I'd make them something else next week. I like to cook and I like to be helpful. Making a meal for them accomplishes both.

Wow, how nice! When are you going to drop a casserole off at my place? I like Italian too.

I like to make food for others during times such as a new baby or accident or whatever, too. It's much more appreciated than sending flowers or yet another bib or whatever. I am sure it will be appreciated and enjoyed, as the descriptions you post of your cooking always sound delicious.
