It is sad when the best GOP option against Trump is Chris Christie

He ran in the 2016 primary election cycle. As a New Jersey resident I knew what Chris Christie was all about and I thought he looked good as a GOP candidate. I didn't agree with his positions at all and never would have voted for him but he seemed like a decent Republican candidate.
Let me say this: Chris Christie was the governor of New Jersey for 8 years. He demonized teachers while also changing the amount of $$ I had to contribute to my medical and pension plans. I live at the Jersey Shore and he allowed a state government shutdown over the 4th of July weekend which shut down an extremely popular state beach park on the barrier island. No one could access it but guess who was photographed sitting on the beach that weekend? There was also Bridgegate. . .
Suffice to say that I'm no fan of Chris Christie but I have to say that it is a sad state of affairs for the GOP when he seems to be the best alternative to Trump. Nikki Haley, Mike Pence, and Mike Pompeo have no chance. Ron DeSantis is going to be a Scott Walker. He isn't ready for prime time. Glenn Youngkin is in the same category as DeSantis. Chris Christie seems to be the only one who seems electable these days. Crazy but true.

It will be interesting to see how this all shakes out in 2024.
