I read a post a few days ago by @noni1959 about cryonics: and in reply I said that I had so many thoughts about this subject there was far too much to put in one response, so I promised to write some posts, in fact a whole series! I did actually write about this some time ago but when I looked into it I found that was back in 2015, so probably OK to revisit this subject. Some people don’t like the finality of death, so instead are choosing to have their bodies frozen in the hope that they can be revived in future, when perhaps whatever disease they are suffering from will be curable, or there may even be treatments to reverse the changes brought about by aging. So they are opting to have their bodies frozen for posterity, or if that’s too expensive then there is the option of just freezing their head. This all sounds a bit crazy but there is a whole industry building up around freezing the bodies of dead people. Have you ever considered this and been tempted by the idea? I watched a movie on Netflix called, 'Hope Frozen: A Quest to Live Twice. I've heard about people wanting to 'freeze' their bodies but I didn't know there was a...

I am not at all tempted. I can consider to give my body to the Medicine University, should it would be interesting to find remedies to genetic problems. I have already signed for euthanasia just in case I would be left like a vegetable in a bed.

@Fleura No one in the family can decide for euthanasia, this could bring family member to ask for this for greediness. I thought better to sign what necessary and give the documents to my notary.

I didn't know it had gone beyond science fiction to reality. No, I would not consider it.

Well it hasn't really, that's just it. But the people selling this idea are selling a fiction.

I'm not interested... And I have some questions for you... What makes people think that anyone in the future would care if they live or die? The future people will probably be contending with an even more crowded Earth than we are now... IF they can fix whatever is wrong with the sleepers, the people will wake up, maybe healed, but what kind of job will the sleepers get to pay for healing them and pay for a place to live? I think the cryonics people are just giggling all the way to the bank...
