Preparing for our monthly staycation.

The day before yesterday, Sunday, I booked a local motel that we stay at to get out of the house. and play tourist. And, take a break from house life. With George retired, it beats the routine of grocery shopping a couple times a week, and staying home the rest of the time. I booked our room today, hoping we get what I picked. Chances are, I should. So, I'll take it.

@kaylachan As I´m not a cat person, I think that cats are happy as long as they are well fed. I think that dogs are different though.

My cat, Chilly, will. But, being close means we can pop in and give him fresh food and water.

@kaylachan is your cat very old and can’t be left alone? My parents live across the street and check on our animals when needed.

George likes to stay close, plus if we were to drive a few hours away, we'd have to take our cat. He does okay in the van, but that's not fair to him.

@shaggin We think he's about 17 years old, and even if he wasn't, we aren't going to leave any animal alone for days. If you have someone to look in on them and give them company, that's good. Their needs are being met. But.... if you can't or don't, as a pet parent, it's your job to ensure they are. We've chosen to just come home, daily, (we're not that far) and take care of him, ourselves.

Sounds good! Any change of scenery for a day or two is just like a vacation. Hope you enjoy it!
