April rode in on big rain clouds in western Oregon and drops fell all night.
It's National Poetry Month & I encourage all to read or write a poem. I got news last night that another jazz-oriented poem was accepted by a Portland based site. That's number four there, I think. There are so many poetry contests announced that it will keep me busy entering & trying to win thousand dollars or so.
I wrote a while back about the 53 word story contest. I entered one, but it did not win. The one that did was okay, had a beginning, middle & end. I'll be entering again once I give it some thought.
Trump got indicted, good news as far as I'm concerned. Texas Republicans are working on a bill that would let the Texas Secretary of State overturn election results.
My old home state has become a political outhouse.
So, here we go into what I hope will be a month with more sun than March for the wet west coast of the US.

@JamesHxstatic We came back from a long walk, it was so hot that it was not even pleasant. After a while we had a thunderstorm and rain. Well this was unexpected.

We have sun at the moment, but thunder and hail can come any moment.

Happy April Fool's Day. For years I linked my WordPress poetry site with National Poetry Month. I wrote a poem a day and when for all the work not much was appreciated I stopped doing this several years ago. I still post poems from time to time and enjoy doing that but too much work for me now. I might enter some poetry contests as long as they are free, I hope the month of April will be a good one for you,

There are a lot of free ones. Look at the journal called Rattle site. They have several different ones. Check the Ekpharastic one, where you write what you see in a painting.

February is Peace poetry postcard month so I forgot about April and poetry. A well respected poet has passed on in Olympia. I really should go to the memorial reading but probably won't make it. I'm delighted to note that so far my morning is free of rain. Had tons of it yesterday.

Oh, who was the poet? We had overcast and a chilly wind all day, then rain all night. The sun is sort of out this morning, but more rain is coming.

@JamesHxstatic Oh my. The weather has soured and now its ugly December outside. Pounding rain and maybe more. I'm not going for any walk unless this blows over! The poet was Bill Yake.

The west coast has been inundated by rain this year. I am glad we rarely ever see tornadoes..
