On our second day, our initial plan was to visit the High Altitude Zoo in Nainital.
But it was closed that day.
So we visited a local church.
It was made during the British Raj time.
Simple yet beautiful.
Then we did boat ride in the Naini Lake.
It was quite enjoyable but we had to cut short the ride a bit as it started raining.
We tried Lunch at a restaurant named "Chandni Chowk" which is actually the name of a historical area in Delhi.
It rained in between and it did restrict our movement but still we enjoyed things as they came !!

Wow!! Nainital is beautiful. I went there with my family when I was around ten years.. It's more than thirty five years
.
When I read the title, I was taken a bit by surprise.. boating in Chandini Chowk.
Enjoy your vacation.
Now I have to read more of your posts. Have been a long time to catch up
. So, you might see more in your notifications.

I have edited the title a bit.
I had a relook and yes it could be confusing!
I think I took a few more pictures inside there but need to find them.
Actually I also wanted to relax, so wasn't into too much of photography unlike my wife!
This was a nice Spring Winter vacation but yes, it would have been better with lesser rains.
The food at the Theme Restaurant was good and their Jalebis too!

Well it's all in the past tense.
Mid March.
A recent Admin post has sort of made sharing Inter-Post Link sharing prohibited.
Else I could have added the back and forth links.
A few pictures here and there are fine, but not too much.

It was 3/4 days stay. It might not sound much but even for this I had to plan a lot.
I informed my bosses of my leave one month in advance.
Even around my trip times, it looked as if those folks were not too happy.
But well, why to care that much!
One does deserves a good family vacation once in a while, and for kids it was a good trip after a long time.

Yes and one rarely gets to have a good boat ride in a big lake in crowded cities.

Which month were you there? Was it sunny weather then or did it rain as well?

February weather would have been even colder.
Haldwani is the biggest commercial city in the foothills of Uttarakhand.

Yes and I took a few pictures of the rain when sheltering from the rain.
Not good enough to be shared here.
Yes the rains did affect a bit and made it a bit colder but it was the fresh mountain air!

Yes and I lived in a few Mountain places for a couple of months - living plus work.
I feel a big connect with them even though my whole life otherwise has been in Northern Indian plains.

Well, the next day there was even rainier and colder!
And well, we were at an average height of 1950 to 2000 M above sea level.
The cold winds of the Mountains can be even more testing than Plains.
I would share in the further posts.

Do you try making different photo collages?
This place is one which many tourists enjoy going to.

It went well although there were some challenges due to the rains and dip in the temperature.
We had warm clothes, but in our mind, we had expectations of a constant sunny and just slightly cold weather.
Anyways there are things that one needs to take into stride.
