Have you ever seen a cute meme, or read a joke, and wanted to share it on myLot?
Mostly, you are not to do that because:
1. We do not copy and paste material from another person. Maybe a link, or a small snippet with quotes and crediting them, but nope, do not steal ideas.
2. This is not Facebook or other social site. This is a discussion site, for original discussions. Not a sharing site. Yes, it is great to share your original stuff, and MAKE A DISCUSSION ABOUT IT. Even your original pictures or links to your original videos.Share them in a discussion.
I think I had another reason and have forgotten it. Anyway, I made this discussion as a reminder to myself, because I saw this really cute cat meme yesterday. We know that lots of myLotters love cats. Was it my work--no. Was it something to discuss--no. It was just funny and cute. I imagine others saw it as well.
I resisted the temptation and reminded myself why not.
Oh, we do not post polls either. Not even the ones that say "play along I want to see your answers". Not original, also can leave you open to being scammed if the ask the same questions used for security on other sites.

I will quote or reference a cute meme if it’s germane to a subject, just like I’ll quote a song or a line from a movie. (Which I’m about to do: as Buford T. Justices said, the Germans have nothing to do with this.

Yes, if it is pertinent. I could have put the meme in for an image and then discussed the topic of cats and names for cats.

Many sites have daily polls or daily questions. I see people turn those daily questions into discussions from time to time. If your discussion is more than just the poll it might be okay. . . not sure.

I remember when, back at the dawn of myLot time, we could post jokes and polls, but I guess those things didn't make any money for the 'Lot, so they were outlawed.

I am not a fun of those memes and all those jokes. Maybe I am anti-social or I am just minding my own business
