I don't need it but I want it

Have you ever wanted something you know you didn't need? I know I have at various times over the years. Currently, my unneeded want is an electric bicycle. I don't need an electric bicycle. I don't need any type of bicycle. But I think they are really neat and I would really like to have one. Where and when would I ride an e-bike, you ask? That's a good question. I rationalize the want by telling myself that if K and I both had one, we could take them on camping trips and ride them to visit places close to the campground thus saving money on gas and the hassle of parking the truck. And that's it. I can't think of any other good reason for incurring the expense of an e-bike other than occasionally using it when we go camping. But I still want one. Is there something you know you don't need but that you really want? Tell us about it.

Well, every year I changed to the latest model of an iPhone. I normally get them on the day of its launching in my country. I don’t need it but I want it.

@DWDavis You're doing the right thing. But I can't stand an old phone. Too slow for me.

I would have liked a wildlife cam camera when we lived on our farmlet but it would be pretty useless now. A few of the people in the village have e-bikes. I think they think they are exercising when they ride these but they don't take much effort.

I haven't tried to convince myself that an e-bike would help me get more exercise. K would never fall for it.

Hubby has looked at those. They could be fun. But a regular bike would be better for health

I do enjoy riding a regular bike. The problem is, my hip and knee joints don't, not anymore. I think they would appreciate the assist of an electric bike.

A lot of the areas we camp in are hilly areas. I am just not able to bike up the hills as I could in my much, much younger days.

It is nice after working hard for almost 50 years to be able to take care of our needs, spend some of what we've earned helping others, and still fulfill some of our wants.

Well, I would like a few milion dollars. LOL. Just kidding. I think one of those four wheel, two seater bikes would be cool to have, especially in good weather. Unfortunately, they are very expensive and probably not as practical as I think. It might help with soaring gas prices, but who knows?

I haven't tried an e-bike yet, I'm very happy getting around on my f-bike (food powered!) But I know several people who have e-bikes who absolutely love them.
