This incident that happened on Interstate 5 in Eugene Oregon when a motorist named threw money from his auto on the road since in his thinking he was trying to bless people who are in need of money. The driver's name is Colin Davis McCarthy who is 38 years old who got in trouble with the Oregon State Police since his actions of throwing money in the interstate did cause many drivers to stop and get out of their autos and pick up the money which could have caused a lot of traffic accidents. Colin had a talk with the police officers that his actions of throwing money on the interstate was littering and that a lot of auto accidents could have happened. Colin was not arrested by the police since he did say that he was sorry for his actions that he thought would be a blessing to others. Those of us who remember the Michael Keaton version of the "Batman" movie which came out in 1989 when the Joker threw money to the people toward the people in a public place, The catch was to poison the air in the process since the Joker is a villain. I read about this I think if it was the same one. He is very kind to do so. But yes, could cause accidents,

I'm not sure I'd call it kind... he apparently drained his family's bank accounts to fund his generosity.

It could be the same person since these kinds of stories are rare.

Maybe he should have gone to a poorer side of a town and leave the money in people's mailboxes or given it to a charitable organization.

@Deepizzaguy It would have caused less disturbance.

That would have been a better way to give his money away and safer.

How do I get in touch with this guy? I would like him to come to Daytona Beach and toss money on the beach, That way those like me who need it can just scoop it up from the sand, As they say no fuss no muss,

Colin was lucky that he was not arrested by the police for littering and nearly causing many auto accidents.

Although his intentions were good, it was a bit of a silly action.

I am in agreement with you since first Colin is guilty of littering and second he could have caused a lot of auto accidents doing a silly stunt.

The Police were kind to him not to fine him, and I hope he has learnt his lesson, and will not do such foolhardy things again. Perhaps, he should try it in a shopping centre, where it will help people to pay for their groceries, but not on a busy highway.

I was thinking that Colin should have gone to a public place and hand out money discreetly to the needy.

@Deepizzaguy Yes, or he could have stood outside of a bank, and given them money, so they didn't have to withdraw their own. Charity begins at home, though, so he should really have thought more about his family's situation too.

I do not blame the family members being angry at Colin for throwing money away on the freeway.

Yes, doing that would definitely cause a lot of disruption on the interstate. I'm glad there were no accidents.

I am in agreement with you since throwing money on a highway is littering and it can cause accidents that will require the work of police and ambulances.
