Yuba City Police Department officer Ashley Carson was riding in her patrol car last year when she saw a small rabbit on the road.
Officer Carson went out of her way to pick up the small rabbit who liked the police officer.
Officer Carson did take the small rabbit to a veterinarian where no one wanted to claim the rabbit as their own.
The good part of this story is that a Police Services Analyst adopted the rabbit and named him Percy since it is the name of the street where he was located by Officer Carson.
Percy is now working with the police department as an emotional support officer to assist persons who need emotional support.

I hope the rabbit doesn't bite anyone. I had a pet rabbit but it was kept outside under the porch.

I hope so as well since I forgot that rabbits can bite humans.

It sounds funny that a rabbit joins the police force. I remember a Looney Tunes cartoon when Bugs Bunny was "recruited" to join the U S Army.

Best of luck to Percy and glad to know he got a job with the Police Department. I could just imagine him with a tiny Police cap on his head,

The rabbit will look funny with a police officer hat over his head.
