Serving Time For His Crime Committed 30 Years Ago.

He was 42 years old when he sexually molested a 7 year-old female relative - on two occasions. Seems the child's relatives wanted to forget about it and not press charges - but she didn't. When she was 27 years old she realized that charges could still be brought against him even though the crime took place so long ago. She decided to press charges. Earlier this month at age 72, he was convicted and jailed for 4 years and 11 months. Could there be enough evidence after so many years to convict someone for that kind of crime? Should he be jailed ? Read more in the link below.https://www.jamaicaobserver.com/news/dirty-old-man/amp/

Yes, I'm glad that this horrible man is finally paying for this unthinkable act of violence, against a child!

@Kandae11 I am so glad God proved this horrible man wrong! He didn't get away with this, thanks to the girl finally pressing charges. I would do the same thing! My ex was sexually molested by a grown woman, his mother's best friend!

Wow! Imagine a child not being safe from his or her own parents. Parents who are supposed to nurture and protect... When l was a child l remember my mother never leaving myself and two sisters alone with our uncles.

That is so disgusting and horrible that he got away with it all those years. I think it’s good he is paying the price for what he did and hopefully this way will never be able to molest another child.

I am just thinking what he might have been doing in those thirty years he was left to roam. The family members should have reported him.

I could not read the link. But from what you wrote, there are many people that should be doing time for a lot of abuse towards minors.

You are right. For that one person who got his due, there are hundreds out there who got away.

I was sexually abused as a little girl. The man wasn't caught, but he eventually spent time in jail for doing this to another child. I was happy about the time my cousin spent behind bars!

@kobesbuddy. He was your cousin? I am so sorry that happened to you. Where little children are concerned the molester is very often a family member.

I imagine there were enough evidence to put him in jail. I wonder why she waited so long, she could have done this when she reached the age of 18.

@Kandae11 - It is possible that she had to wait until she could have an independent life.

From what l read he had threatened her. Also she probably did not want to offend the family members. She probably feels safer now they are old.

There must have been enough evidence to convict him. They should lock him up for the rest of his life and throw away the key.

@Kandae11 I'm sure he did think he got away with it. I'm glad he didn't.

There must have been very strong evidence for them to convict after all those years. He thought he had got away with his misdeeds.

Sounds like justice will finally prevail in this case. Hopefully there will be DNA evidence to use against him.

I don't know how they proved he did it after all those years, but they had to have some concrete evidence otherwise the case would have been thrown out.

I'm glad that this horrible man didn't get away with this. Just wonder why the woman didn't take action earlier.

She was probably afraid. Now that he is old she took the chance.
