A Bush Laying Out for the Garbage Man

Years back, I was driving back home, headed down Newman Street. I past my friend Judy's house and there was an uprooted bush laying beside the road. It was next to a garbage can, intended for the garbage man. Instead of passing it by, I stopped and threw it in my trunk. Judy wasn't home, for me to ask permission before taking this bush. I transplanted this 1/2 dead bush in Kobe's back yard, beside to the front fence. Oh boy, did I ever get a reaction out of my dog! Kobe was NOT happy about this darn bush, taking up space in his back yard! Before the day was over, Kobe had uprooted that bush and torn almost every remaining leaf, shoot and branch off it! I had to rescue the poor thing, from sudden death! I was shocked, not realizing that a bush could possibly be an offensive item, to a spoiled black-Labrador, Kobe was not happy, to put it mildly! I threw the feeble looking bush over the fence, out of Kobe's reach. I transplanted it beside the garbage can, which Kobe had terrorized also, at one point in time. The garbage can was no longer sitting on Kobe's side of the fence! I tried to nurse that bush back to health, but it never survived that major, canine attack. Jay finally threw it away, after two years of trying to restore its beauty. Photo: No,, this is not the same bush, it's a different one.

Oh, poor Kobe. He must have been so put upon. It’s too bad you don’t have his theatrics on camera.

I don't video tape anything, just a few photos that I take or someone e-mails to my box.

@kobesbuddy I don’t either. I never have, and neither did my parents!

I'm sorry the bush didn't survive Kobe's attack.

Kobe was so temperamental, with anything strange invading his yard! One day a poor robin innocently landed on the grass and Kobe hiked it out of there, in two seconds!

Friend used to have a dog that used to hide items in a bush outside. We referred to it as "Buddy's bush", at one time it contained a ham bone, a frisbee, dog toys and other items of interest to a canine.

Kobe did that also, except he hid things beneath the back porch:) Bones, toys and other things he wanted to hide, from predators:)

Kobe had his own ideas about how he wanted his 'home' decorated.

Anything that was strange or new in Kobe's yard, he didn't want it around! A robin landed in the back yard. Kobe hiked it out of there, in two seconds!

Dogs have their routines and don't like changes in their surroundings. Too bad about the bush!

I had no idea Kobe wouldn't appreciate a bit of foliage in his yard!

I'm sorry the forsythia bush didn't do well. Leah, black Lab mix gal, used to take pansies out of their pots and place them in the middle of the yard. She didn't hurt them. For some reason she thought those pansies belonged in the spot that she chose.

Kobe was protective of his territory for sure. Sorry, the bush didn't make it.
