We have had some really nice warm and sunny days here in my area which has put me in a "Rock N' Roll Mood." You may not recognize this Loggins & Messina song if you're not familiar with this duo, but you may have heard "Your Mama Don't Dance." This was perhaps their most popular song among casual listeners. So, give it a listen and see if this tune doesn't make any "Daddy Rock n' Roll!" Your comments, musings, and your own favorite rock titled songs and trivia always welcome. 1. "Your Mama Don't Dance"- Loggins & Messina -Although this song was considered a throwaway by the artists, it was the Country Rock duo's highest charting tune at #4. 2. "Rocky Mountain Way"- Joe Walsh -This ode to Colorado and the Rocky Mountains was released in 1973 charting at #23. This was Joe's first solo album after quitting the James Gang at the height of their popularity. If you ever heard this tune it's like a "juiced up" steroid version of John Denver's popular "Rocky Mountain High" which was released the previous year. You Tube it, the song rocks! Let me know what you think... TRIVIA CHALLENGE ***Now for our trivia music challenge for those who like to play along. See if you can guess these selections. Words in "quote marks" provide valuable clues! Name this week's tune, artist or facts: 1. This band might have been named after "a card from a deck of cards." Not the King, but the "female equivalent." This song was written as an "audience participation number" to get the "crowd to stamp their feet and clap their hands." It was almost always followed by their other classic "We are the Champions" with both songs being their encore numbers. The tune has become a "popular stadium anthem at sports events"around the world. -Can you name this band and their rock-titled song? 2. This tune by Bob Seger was named one of the Songs of the Century in 2001. Released in 1979, the song gained renewed popularity after being featured in the "1983 film Risky Business." That was the movie where "Tom Cruise danced around" to this song in his "underwear." A great song that "reminisces about the days of old" where they wrote rock songs that "soothes the soul." -Do you know the name of this rock titled Seger song? So, let's "not get caught between a rock and a hard place" when answering these trivia questions. If you're stuck and need additional hints just let me know in your response. I'll be glad to supply one. Or, as Billy Swan would say, "I Can Help." Thanks for reading and responding to my music post!!! I will return with a new edition soon. Hope you can wait till then, lol. Stay tuned... Source- Wikipedia & songfacts.com

Yes, two great artists who used "Rock Titled" songs. Fun facts: Bob Seger co-wrote one of the "Eagles" classic tunes "Heartache Tonight" which reached the #1 spot on the charts. Enjoy this Seger classic which made Tom Cruise famous and thanks for stopping by and commenting...

Out of the car, long hair!!!!! 1. Oh, yeah, the Jacks, with lead singer Farrokh Bulsara. They will rock us, but as Dylan said everybody must get rocked. 2. I won’t try to take you to a disco because all of Chuck’s children are NOT out there playing his licks there and I’d never even get you out on the floor. Wonder if Seger has a sign similar to those western “olde tyme photos” signs at midways or wherever, only his says “Olde tyme rock and roll.” Bases are loaded and Casey’s at bat! See you next week!

@dgobucks226 — Cubs suck, but at least we’re past the “wait until next year” after the National Anthem on opening day. Happy for the Rays (Sweet Lou Piniella used to manage them, as did Joe Maddon). Nice to see the Reds not being bad.

Yes, that "long hair" line was expertly shouted out by their drummer Merel Bregante! Ha, ha, and many followed Bob's advice. Old Tyme Western photos are pretty cool, aren't they? Well, I'd have to have "rocks in my head" not to enjoy those comments and musings. P.S.- how is your favorite ball club doing so far this season? And for your reward, you just might like this Joe Walsh song along with his "backing band." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AdQ56oGYX3s

@FourWalls The Cubs hey??? Like rooting for the Red Sox all those years which I did. Well, at least they both finally tasted success as Champs. Now how long do we have to wait Yes, the Big Red Machine has blown a gasket these past years. Maybe this will be the start of their resurgence.. Did you enjoy those Eagles accompanying Joe on Rocky Mountain Way
