Homecoming is always great

It's awesome that you could do that within a 3-day leave. I would like to do that too, but my hometown is a 14-hour bus ride and a 4-hour hike from my current location. I hope I could do it in the near future though. It is always wonderful to go back to your routes and reminisce about the good old days.

Yes it's always joyful to go to the native place when you're staying in a diffrent place alone . You are able to meet your relatives and friends there.

It does feel good to talk to old friends. I do that a couple of times a month.
