The most common cooking oils use here in my country are the following: 1. Coconut oil 2. Palm oil 3. Soybean oil 4. Canola oil 5. Olive oil 6. Vegetable oil I'm not really sure of the difference of palm oil, coconut oil and vegetable oil from each other. For deep frying we usually use Palm oil and for sautéing we use canola oil. Some cooking oil are actually bad for health and there are oils that are good for health. These are what I read online: "Healthy cooking oils should have healthy fats like monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats instead of saturated and trans-fat. Monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats are fats that are good for your heart. While saturated and trans-fat can raise your LDL (bad) cholesterol." " On the other hand, the worst kind of cooking oil is palm oil, and vegetable oil. Palm oil specifically can cause atherosclerosis which means the thickening or hardening of the arteries. More studies are being conducted for coconut oil."

This year we already switched to coconut oil. Before, we were using canola oil and palm oil. But they said palm oil and canola oil are not good. Coconut is a bit more expensive than palm oil, but I think that's one of the best choices when it comes to cooking oil.

Most of the time I use coconut oil because there are many of these which are not so pricey. I also like Olive oil but they are much too expensive here in the Philippines.
