This is for those with a sweet tooth. I have a sweet tooth and juicy jalebis are one of my favourite sweet snacks. They can be made at home as well but I have so far not tried making them The main ingredient is gram flour, sugar and curds. Gram flour is made into a thick batter adding curds and water with salt to taste. . The jalebis are deep fried The batter is put in a muslin cloth, knotted and squeezed directly into the hot oil. One needs practice for this. The fried jalebis are then soaked in sugar syrup. Do you have a sweet tooth. What is your favourite sweet snack? Image Credit:

The picture alone looks like a funnel cake. What you describe also sounds delicious.

We make something similar but using wheat flour instead of gram flour, Mom made them when we were kids. I think that in English it's called funnel cake. My favorite sweet snacks are chocolate chips cookies.

@allknowing - I am sure I ate them in several Indian Restaurants, I think those were made with wheat flour. Here in Europe it's hard to find chickpea flour.
