Not fair that such beautiful flowers like tulips are poisonous when consumed. Every part of tulips including leaves and bulbs are not edible. As a rule no one eats flowers but what about kids and animals. I think animals have a better sense as it is reported they know what to eat and what not to eat and that includes birds.
The beauty of tulip farms cannot be described. I missed seeing them just by 15 days when I had visited Amsterdam.
Have you visited tulip fields. They have started growing tulips in Kashmi, India and here is an image

Here are some tulip facts some may not know:
They did not originate from Holland.
By the way, this list contains the list of "poisonous" flowers, but I don't see tulips in it though.

@allknowing Yep true, but those flowers up there on the 2nd URL are more deadly, if you know what I mean. Tulips simply pale in comparison.

There's a tulip farm about an hour away from us and I think they've gone into many other flowers, too.

I always have wondered about the truth in the statement that tulips are poisonous. I planted a lot of tulips, where I used to live. The squirrels that lived in my big tree dug up every single bulb and ate them. They never got sick, and they were still very much alive. Maybe just poisonous to people?

Quite likely so Squirrels know what to eat and what not to eat.

Maybe some animals know what is good for them and what isn't.
