High Heels

Following fashion is every young woman's dream but I wonder why anyone invented high heels some as high as 8"
Balancing on them is an art and most important of all ensuring an elegant walk again is an effort that needs practice.
I no longer wear high heels and wearing flat shoes is so comfortable and risk free. I too fell in that trap when younger and let me confess it was torture but fashion is fashion and anyone not following fashion would fall in the category of 'square'
What say?

@LadyDuck I think they are called wedge heels that taper like what I see in your photo. I have them now for my shoes.

@allknowing I still wear high heels, not that high, usually 7 to 9 cm. My "flat" shoes have a 3 cm heel, I do not like to walk in flat shoes. Those in the photo are my flat house shoes.

Any heels I wore or wear are not the skinny high heels that we all think of when someone mentions high heels. I’ve always gone with heels that were shorter, and thicker, not really high heels at all. Yet some not familiar with real high heels just throw them all in one category. My feet just can’t do genuine high heels.

@allknowing I have some wedge heels, definitely, but some are thinner than a traditional wedge.

@allknowing I would look a complete fool wearing them now.
I mean for everyday use that is.
I don't know, I might say around 6 inches was the highest heel and hot pink, I remember those. Stripper shoes.

I never used heels so high. But I did like them when I was young. Still, they were not aproppiate for dancing to rock music. Now I´m a fan of Skechers. I´m waiting for them to make flat shoes for parties.
