Memory game

The concentration game or Memory game (as it is sometimes called) is played by keeping all 52 cards of the deck upside down and guessing the pair by opening only two cards at a time. If the correct pair is not opened we close the cards again and the next player tries his turn. I taught my grandson to play this a couple of days back. This game is good for both kids and for adults. It also helps senior citizens. Have you played this game? And what is this game called in your language/country? Any similar type of games that you know of? Pic is my own

I remember playing this game with my grandparents a lot when I was a child. It's a shame more children and adults don't play card games together anymore.

I want to keep my grandson away from the mobile and TV and am thinking of all the possible games that we can together play indoors to keep him busy.

Yes, I have played the concentration game before. In my country, it is commonly known as "Memory" or "Pairs." There are similar games like "Match" or "Matching Pairs" that follow the same concept of flipping cards to find matching pairs.

It has been many years since I played that game. It's called the same thing here. I'm glad you had fun playing the game with your grandson.

I had a lot of old visiting cards lying with me. So made some new games with names of countries, states and their capitals. This will help him learn the names.

@JudyEv I usually dont buy board games for the kids when they are here. Prefer if they interact with people around here and try out new ways to keep themselves busy. I send board games to their house to play.

@mayka123 There are some great new board games but he'd need a partner. And they can be quite expensive. Is he likely to like jigsaws if you choose the right picture? Something that interests him?

I think some are playing it here but it's online. I played this online before, but now I have stopped. I guess I have to pick it up again to bolster my memory.

I don't think I have seen this game online. You should try it as it is good exercise for the brain.

Surely a memory game as one has to keep a tag on the cards that were opened.
