A whale or a plane / myLot

I saw this airplane parked at the Kolkata airport on Monday. It was labelled beluga and was distinctly different from any other airplane I had ever seen. It looked like a whale - the beluga is a large whale. Apparently this is a transport aircraft that is used to shift large airplane parts or equipments. I wonder what it was bringing to India! Have you ever seen a plane like this?

It's from Airbus Industries, it's French. This is is a modifired version of the standard A300-600. They called it first Super Transporter, but as it looked like a Beluga they modified the name. It's not a new aircraft.

May be it is bringing Airbus planes delivery from France? Or could be some Military equipment? I think I have seen this Plane in Photographs but never in reality.
