In many islands in Indonesia there are long walk on shallow sea bed

In many islands in Indonesia there is shallow sea bed. That means the steamers have to stop at least half kilometer away from the shore. From there the travellers have to walk towards the shore. But is a great experience as in the shallow waters the corals, sea shells, sea urchins all can be seen from transparent water.

Are there foot washing stations once you reach the island? I don't like walking in mud.
