No sweeter music.

Can there be anything more deeply satisfying than tramping through fields of lush, green fields with cows vacantly watching your heavy labours through the mist? Perhaps, but no other joy is available to me this morning so that’s what I have been doing. I loved it.
Meadows and forest surround my current abode, just as it was at the country cottage near Domfront in Normandie where I’ve been staying of late. Both have slow, wide rivers passing through with over-hanging trees, great picnic country.
As I tramped through the fields and through the woods at a disgracefully early hour (I’m told) I met no-one today. In the absence of human chatter I rose from the log I like to sit upon to applaud the symphony of water, birdsong, growing grass and gentle mooing. No sweeter music.
