We have tart cherries in our garden and I am not sure if they have the same effect as the one you see in the photo. Cherries are not only good to eat as they are sweet and tasty they have one quality that takes care of gout issues. Gout is a painful disease and having cherries regularly will ward off this painful disease. Excess of uric acid is the cause for gout and it also helps by avoiding certain foods such as red meats. Cherries are very expensive, but I love them. The right kind of cherries, tart ones included, are good for sleep.

That's new info for me. I know that legumes and kale could exacerbate gout, but I didn't know that cherries could help. I guess someone did some research about it. Actually, we have wild cherries back in my hometown in the province.

One of my bearded dragons seems like he might have gout. I've given him organic tart cherry juice for it before. It seemed to help reduce the inflammation quite a bit for him.

The reduced risk of gout when eating cherry is 35%, shame that cherry season is so short.
