There Was a Scorpion in My Pants

Yes, you read that right. There actually was a scorpion in my pants! I live in an area of Georgia in the US where in the warmer weather, small scorpions of an inch or two find their way into houses. They are more of a nuisance than anything and although I have never been bit by one, I have heard their bite can really hurt. I am afraid of them. I usually just squash them with my shoe when I see one and take a big wad of paper towels to throw them away.
This morning when I got up, I pulled on a pair of leggings that I had left on the floor last night. I went into the kitchen and put the water on for coffee. Then I took the dog outside to go to the bathroom in our fenced-in backyard. As I was standing on the back deck, I felt an itch on my leg near the seam of the leggings, so I bent down and scratched it a bit and walked over to see if I could see where the dog went.
A few minutes later I felt another itch. Thinking it was just dry skin, or maybe the extra string hanging down from my pedometer, I scratched it again. The third time I felt the itch, I realized there must be a bug in my pants. You can imagine my horror when I pulled my pants down (the neighbors can't see anything on our back deck) and pulled a scorpion of about an inch and a half off my leg and threw it into the bushes. I was totally freaked out and grossed out as well. I couldn't believe it hadn't bitten me!
Remember a few weeks ago I told you the story about how God blessed me because the tree branch fell down in the back of my truck and I was SO fortunate that it hadn't landed on my windshield? Well, He blessed me again today by preventing that scorpion from biting me!
Did this story gross you out??? Have you ever been bitten by a scorpion?

@kouponkaren I’d never go to sleep again if that happened to me. I still check under the bed for snakes every morning before I put my feet on the floor 50 years after having left snake country to live in the serpent-free zone of Ireland.

I think I would have screeched and yelled and more...creepy crawlies, oh my!! I am glad you were not bitten!
Once, I was living in an older farmhouse. I got a bug/bee/can't remember which, but it went down my shirt!! I ripped that shirt off so fast--and I was outside, I had been mowing on the riding mower. So there I was, outside, without my shirt on! I ran so, so fast to the house! Later on I discovered I ripped my shirt off so fast, I tore it down the front and side.

I have put my foot into my rubber boot (wellington) and discovered a frog had got there first. That was pretty scary too.

I wouldn't be able to dress in the dark again-not that I can now.
