Aiden Wiles who is a 17 year old male umpire who was working behind home plate during a Fort Caroline Athletic Association in Jacksonville Florida is being praised for his quick actions of picking up seven year old boy Bauer Zoya was playing baseball for the Ponte Verda Sharks who was engulfed by a short lived dust devil that lifted Bauer off of his feet. Aiden did the right thing by lifting Bauer off of his feet and getting him out of danger. Aiden admitted that he was scared of lifting Bauer but he acted on faith that everything would work out in his favor which it did. The baseball game between the Ponte Verde Sharks and Fort Caroline Athletic Association Indians went on as scheduled with no more weird weather. Aiden is being thanked by the relatives of Bauer. @Deepizzaguy A dust devil (also known regionally as a dirt devil) is a strong, well-formed, and relatively short-lived whirlwind. Its size ranges from small (half a metre wide and a few metres tall) to large (more than 10 m wide and more than 1 km tall). The primary vertical motion is upward. Dust devils are usually harmless, but can on rare occasions grow large enough to pose a threat to both people and property.[1][2]

@RasmaSandra Thank you for the information since the dirt devil did pick up Bauer off of his feet before Aiden grabbed him and took him away from danger.

Those dust devils can cause dust to get in your eyes and really do some damage.

The funny thing is that umpires are the villains for many fans of baseball when they blow a call sometimes.

I saw the video on my local news yesterday. It was cute to watch the teenage umpire play the superhero.
