St. Vincent de Paul's has Changed Ownership

We have patronized St. Vincent de Paul's second hand store, for many years. As a girl growing up, I remember going to this store a couple times. Jay and I have donated different items to this store, throughout our married life. Some of the clothing they sell is like new, with tags from hanging on a sales rack. When Family Dollar went out of business, some merchandise was donated to this store. Of course, it had never been worn before. Recently, this well known store changed hands. It goes by the name of St. John's Christian Charity and Thrift Store. I guess that's a pretty good name:) They basically accept and sell used items, the exact same way. Photo: Mine

Thay sound like our Thrift store that moved out of the neighborhood. they had all sorts of beautiful tings, from linens, clothing to furniture and books. I hated to see them go. I gave them all my donations.

Glad it is still around stores like that give really good deals on clothing. What I really miss form my childhood is wandering around those old Woolworth stores that still had wood flooring, I loved those stores,

We had a Woolworth store in Bay City, I loved it! Two pairs of pants I wore quite often, were purchased there. Now that store is no longer there. Kresges? Another wonderful place that's gone.

We donate a lot of items, anything we are no longer using. Once I donated a nice Lowry Organ, it sold right away. Clothing, I never give things that are worn out, only usable things.

Stores like the one you mentioned on this post are wonderful places to purchase materials since my relatives and myself enjoy buying second hand clothing and items at Christian owned stores.

I love to buy books there, they are usually only ten cents! A hard cover book costs a little bit more. I have purchased clothing from this store, many times:)

@kobesbuddy My relatives like to buy clothing. compact disc and needs like lamps for the home. We go to Goodwill as the Salvation Army and an independent store whose names escape me.

I wonder why the name changed? I used to live near one of their stores and loved it.
