The Geese are Loving This Weather

We woke up to light rain and calm winds around 6:15 a.m. when we took the dogs out for first potties. I was wondering if the water had risen or fallen overnight, so we walked toward the dock.
The water seemed higher and covered more of the road this morning. Campground staff had lined up picnic tables to block access to the tent camping area. K noticed some geese on the far side of the "puddle" keeping us from reaching the dock. The geese didn't seem to mind not having people coming out to the dock to bother them.
The wind has picked up some as the morning progressed. The rain alternates between a drizzle and a shower. Temps have finally reached the low 60sF/~14C but won't get much warmer. This is not a great start for the unofficial first weekend of summer here in eastern NC.
What sort of day did you wake up to this morning?

I went to sleep this morning to cloudy skies and 53F... I woke up at 12:30 pm to cloudy skies and 71F. The National Forecast shows clear skies for my area today. The local forecast shows possible rain today. Both forecasts show a possible high of 78F today.
I hope you all have a good day, no matter what the weather decides to do.

It’s hazy, maybe cloudy here. No rain predicted today, which probably means I’ll get drenched walking to my car from the restaurant.
Sorry it’s raining on your parade and weekend.
You’re almost retired now, so you could have rescheduled this!!

Rescheduling wasn't an option. One of the things we did today was to visit my dad's grave. He passed 2 years ago today. As a Navy vet, he'd have been proud to know he went on Memorial Day Weekend. Near the end, though, he was too out of it to know. My baby sister and her husband met K and me there this afternoon. The Scouts had already placed a flag on his grave. It is hard to believe it's been two years.

@DWDavis — you’re correct, that is an etched-in-stone date. Sorry for your loss. A salute to him from a grateful sailor who served in peacetime because of his generation.

Despite the less than ideal weather conditions, I hope you were still able to make the most of your day and find enjoyment in the unique atmosphere created by the rain, geese, and changing weather patterns.

@DWDavis While you may not partake in activities like kayaking, fishing, or hiking, it's wonderful that you've found a way to connect with others online and engage in the digital realm. Camping doesn't always have to follow a traditional script, and embracing alternative ways to enjoy the experience is a testament to adaptability and finding your own unique rhythm amidst nature's embrace.

It is cool, sunny and pleasant right now. it will probably cloud up in the evening, but if we are lucky, it won't rain until night time.
