While it’s raining on the weekend parade here, we need the rain. So I’ll give it a thumbs up and enjoy this because it’s supposed to be 90 by mid-week. And I’ll enjoy another great song from 1973. Here’s one I’ve used before…and I’ll use again. #4: Take the Highway - Marshall Tucker Band Combine this with yesterday’s and we have the Marshall Tucker Band on the Run! A first-generation southern rock band with a difference: instead of eight-minute guitar solos, the Marshall Tucker Band had eight-minute flute solos! Jerry Eubanks kicked some major butt in his flute work with the band, going from this to the mournful work on “Can’t You See.” This and “Can’t You See” are my two favorite MTB songs. As they were on the same album, I flipped a coin to see which one would end up in the countdown. So “Can’t You See” will be featured in the countdown in ten years.
