Not Enough Rain

After raining last night it’s nice and sunny today. I walked down by the creek this morning to see if the water was any higher, but no such luck. It’s still barely moving. We occasionally have a dry summer and this might be another one. The pools are open but it’s still a little too cool for me to go in the water. I’ll give it a few more days. What are all my friends doing today out in mylot land?

I love the photo. It is a very pretty little creek. You probably have a lot of wild things there. The southeast is in a drought state and we need more rain for a longer time.

@RubyHawk Yeah, there are water shortages in various places around the country. I have lived in several states where we needed much more water.

We have a drought every several years when all the car washes and pools are closed and watering lawns and gardens aren’t allowed.

We might get rain on Sunday but we have had a lot already this year. Always nice to have a good rain.

@CarolDM We normally have rain throughout summer but occasionally we have drought. I don’t think we’re quite at that point yet.

That's how it would be in our area for many years . . . any bit of rain didn't make much of a difference . . . the creeks would often be very dry (not this year at this moment though!). This week is the last week of school . . . getting ready for my daughter to graduate from high school!

We've been without rain for about a month; and we need it badly. We paid big bucks to have our weed bed turned into a flower bed; and the plants are turning brown. Hubs says he feels well enough to go out and water today. Not much going on here.

We have two in the complex. They were closed two years during the pandemic and last summer seldom open. Hopefully this year it’s back to normal.

WE have too much rain here last week that other parts of the city were flooded again. It's the rainy season. We would see the sun rise but come midday, the sun would suddenly disappear.

@toniganzon We have the four seasons. Cold in winter, cool in spring, hot in summer and cool again in fall. We have a good variety. I like summer even when it’s hot because we can go swimming.

Lake Huron is way too cold, even if our weather got warm. We're at around 80 degrees today, not too bad. We definitely need some rain, to put out a forest fire in Michigan!

At least, there is still water in the stream.

For our area, rainy days are here again. I fear flashfloods and land erosions, and I pray that nothing serious would happen this time. Take care and stay safe.

It is relaxing to walk along the creek. I’ve read that trees give off feel good chemicals and I believe it.
