My favorite show was cancelled

NCIS: Los Angeles has been cancelled. I was bummed when I heard the news. I love this show and always looked forward to new episodes. No more. At least I can still watch reruns if they are ever on TV. They always draw me in. The show has been on for 14 seasons. That's a long time. It is clearly a popular show. Though perhaps maybe it lost some viewers due to the fact that it was moved to Sunday nights. But many still tuned in. So why was it cancelled? I read somewhere that perhaps it is too expensive to make. But I bet the original NCIS isn't cheap to make either and yet it is still on the air. Twenty seasons already. I've actually never watched the original NCIS as it aired. Only watched reruns. I want to watch it in its entirety from the very beginning. But I do not have paramount+. They rerun the show on cable but not all the seasons are available and not all the episodes in each season are available either. It will be difficult to watch it from the beginning and in order if I resort to watching it on TV.

At first I watched only reruns but then decided to watch from beginning and in order. After I caught up then I watched all new episodes as they aired.

I wish Eric had been in the finale as well. And Hetty. But Linda Hunt hasn’t been on in a number of years so I didn’t get my hopes up about her returning for the finale.

@lovebuglena Hetty was hurt really bad in real life in a car accident. That is why she was not in the show anymore.

When I heard NCIS: LA had been canceled a few months ago, I was surprised, but you make good points. The original NCIS still gets better ratings than the LA spinoff, although not by like 5 million people or anything. But the cost is high also because they pay the LA cast more than the cast of NCIS. Most of the original NCIS stars are gone, so they haven't been paying a lot of huge salaries since for that one. LA still has their big guys, which why it's probably still good, albeit expensive.

@lovebuglena I believe it is just the actor who plays McGee left of the original cast. When you say Leroy, do you mean the actor who played Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon)? He left two years ago, and he was the biggest salary. But you may be referencing an actor on the show named Leroy, and I just don't remember him. Oh wait, do you mean the character Leon, the African American cast member? Because, he is an original cast member too, I think you're right. I'm sorry if I confused you more.

I think the guy that plays Timothy McGee is the only OG guy left. Or maybe Leroy actor was also there since the beginning. Not sure.

@AmbiePam oops. Wrong name. I meant director Vance (not sure on spelling). I think Leon is his name.

There could be a lot of reasons for this change, as annoying as it might be. Nothing can last forever, and perhaps you'll get a reason.

@lovebuglena I don't watch NCIS, period. But nice to see it's still a thing even if part of its canceled.

It’s great it lasted that long. I don’t watch NCIS: Hawaii but I heard that LL Cool J will appear in some episodes of that show.

Some of these shows run for a very long time. The characters almost become like old friends or at least people you think you know well.

It’s definitely a good run for a show if it lasts for 14 seasons. Still, I wish it hadn’t ended when it did.

Is NCIS: Los Angeles the one that had LL Cool J in it? I used to watch the original back in the early days, but for one reason or another I stopped watching it.

On the bright side I did see all the episodes. Two I had to rent though ‘cause couldn’t find it on tv.

I know it's a pain, but maybe there was a technical issue that required it to be cancelled.

I doubt that is the case. Perhaps it was for budget reasons.

@lovebuglena Yes, Maybe. If it's not a violation, it could also be a technical problem.
