Hey everyone, I hope you are all doing well. I am back to share how I did today. Let's start with the weigh in and then get into the rest. Yesterday - 223 Today - 221.2 So yes I did drop a bit in the weight. I doubt I will tomorrow. I started the day off with a low blood sugar. I woke up shaking and sweating all over. I think I sweat so much that my CGM sensor stopped working I think. At least it lasted almost the full 2 weeks. Anyways - what was my blood sugar? 55! Yeah that is super low. So I had a "snack" to get my sugar up (to 168). That was at 10 AM that I ate. My next meal was not til about 4 PM. Nope, it was not low carb. I didn't eat for hours though because we spent 2 hours outside while my son played in the water. I did get sunburned. Didn't think about getting burned because the sun was constantly hiding and then coming out, then hiding again. What did I eat? Meal 1 (snack to raise my sugar) - swiss rolls. Only thing I could find quickly Meal 2 - 5 popcorn chicken, 5 chicken tenders (these are small ones, more nugget size) and a few chips Meal 3 - We did go out, my husband decided to celebrate Father's day early so we went to Perkin's (not sure you have one where you are). I had fish and chips (only ate 1 of the fish and some of the fries) No, I don't have macros for today. My carbs won't be as high as they have been...but definitely not low carb. Not having extra desserts does help.. Tomorrow I do have my leftovers, but I should try to add exercise back in (if I can with my pain). I may try to do OMAD (one meal a day) on days that I plan to have carbs. I guess we'll see. What do you all think?

I always thought that diabetics should eat three meals a day. What does your doctor think about OMAD?

My doc suggests fasting intermittently. Honestly it doesn't matter what he thinks, I have done the research and know myself. And the more you eat the more you spike insulin and sugar. No matter what I think I am wrong...so maybe I just give up! And I only meant I would do one meal (or two) on those "cheat" days.

I do know from living with diabetics before in my lifetime, that they would not have survived on one meal a day, it would have sent the sugars all wacky. I'm not diabetic, no. I am just stating what I have seen, one meal a day didn't work. My Dad was so stubborn..he landed in the ER when he tried it. My stepmom was so upset with him. She was gone for one day, and he did that. Take baby steps, you'll get there.

I could probably fast for a couple days and be fine. I am not worried about doing one meal a day as long as I get enough calories in. I think it would be better than spiking my sugars 3x or more a day. Just once and let it stablize the rest of the day

I think you did good with your meals for the day. I am glad you raised your sugar.
