The Awkward Moment

About a few years ago I met a lady while walking on the road. She stopped me and started talking to me. The weird thing is that she knows my name and I don't know hers. We chatted for 10 to 15 mins and she kept on talking and saying things I just don't remember. It would be so awkward to tell ask her name and who she was so I just play along. When she left, my husband asked me who she was and the only thing I could reply was, "I don't know." Did you ever have such an awkward moment?

Oh, yes! When I started college I started running into other kids who knew my name, yet I had no clue who they were. It was a Bible college, and I eventually figured out these kids had parents who had been to the church my dad pastored, and had also met me. They remembered me, but I had been so shy as a kid, so I had no recollection of them. Some of the kids were other pastor's children I'd met several times, but I'd met so many I couldn't remember the names of them or their parents Your situation is much more odd though. At first, I thought you had a stalker. Could she have been a friend of your mothers?

I think being a shy kid has something to do with our memory since I was a shy kid too. In such a situation, I just pray my brain comes up with answers that don't need to take her name. No, she was around my age. But I don't remember being in the same class. In my college days, I was quite popular. I mean everyone knew me and I didn't know them. It's not because I was pretty or anything. The two reasons why I was famous in college was 1. One morning before our exams started I had a fit. I was in the courtyard and so were all the students. 2. There was a very pretty girl who was in love with a guy who traveled on the bus I do. He was flirting with me and I kept pushing him away. So this girl kept asking all students if they saw me. At that time I had a golden chain with my name written on it. And everyone look at it they knew it was me who the girl was looking for. LOL

This happens to me all the time when I sit somewhere waiting for my husband.

Yes, that has happened to me before. If it was someone who I rarely come across (it's understandable) I will ask them their name and apologize for my forgetfulness. It is awkward to not remember someone's name after being introduced to them. It feels like you're insulting them by not thinking their important enough to remember.

Yes that's exactly why we can't ask them who they are and what's their name.
