Everyone's home :o)

Today is a regular holiday in the country so everyone's home including the husband. It's not often that I'm able to get up at 6:30 am and on a weekday at that. It's a welcome treat even though it's kind of disorienting as I'm used to getting up at 4:30 am. We did laundry as soon as we got off the bed. Then I prepared a simple breakfast of rice, tuna and omelet with onions, tomatoes and fresh basil. The girls woke up later than usual and had their online voice lessons at around 10 a.m. Later the husband and my eldest will head out to get some lunch and milk tea for everyone. I haven't had milk tea in months. I might want to have the usual wintermelon milk tea with pearls and 25% sugar. That, or the brown sugar milk tea. Whatever's available. I have, so far, done a few pages of work. I'm glad I'm not cooking lunch today; I hope to put in more work hours before the June 30 deadline. Ah, I can't wait. I'm making a cup of barley coffee in a bit. Hope your day's going great.

@almostoveryou Staying home or taking a short vacation both sound good. Just make sure you don't spend your time working instead of resting.

You have such a wonderful family based on your post. I can see that everyone is contributing to the household chores. Have fun with your family for the rest of the day. I'm doing fine at this moment.

Thank you. We all have our share of chores because we don't have a housekeeper. We did takeouts for both lunch and dinner. We just wanted to stay home and enjoy the cool weather. It rained a lot yesterday. I hope you stay well and fine.

Getting up at 4:30am every day might make me give up on life. For me, 6:30am is as early as I can willingly do. I really hope you and your family enjoy the holiday!

IKR. I was a night person for many years until I married a school teacher who leaves for work every day at 5:30 am. My girls have the same schedule at school, so I have no choice but to keep up.

We had a wonderful time, thank you. I think barley coffee is more popular in Asia and the Middle East. There's also barley tea which is just as good.

I've never heard of watermelon tea or barley coffee. They sound very interesting.

Wintermelon is a popular type of melon here in our part of Asia. Barley tea and barley coffee are also popular here, although the barley coffee that I drink these days is imported from Egypt. It's a mix of roasted barley and chicory. Tastes almost like real coffee.

I used to consume barley coffee. I now like green tea or matcha green tea
