I Came by it Honestly

My mom was a single mother. She worked as a waitress at a place called Snow Balls. She would come home each evening with a new treat to try. One night she brought home the original Kit Kat bar. Not the ones you get today but the original British version. Delicious. (Nothing like it is today) She went on a fudge bender once and would try a new recipe each night until she perfected it. So good! One night she brought home a honeycomb. It was both a learning experience and an oral one. Today I know what good food is all about. Good texture, flavor, and oral delight. If those aren't there it is rotten. I call myself a foodie because I enjoy food. I don't eat to live, I live to eat. I have been found medically to be pre-diabetic because I love it a bit too much I guess. What will I do? EAT! I am 71 years old. I don't go out, I don't socialize. I enjoy eating. I enjoy laughing. I enjoy reminiscing. I watch old movies and thrillers. I eat what I want when I want. Why do I need to go on some health extravaganza? To what end? A better life? Why? I eat enough fish and turnip greens to sink a battleship. If that isn't good enough then I will die a happy fish and chocolate lover.

Hey, as long as you don’t need a crane to get you out of the house, and your legs don’t get close to needing to being amputated, enjoy what makes you happy, my dear.

I know exactly what you mean. I am 75 and I figure why shouldn't I enjoy eating at my age? Sure, I need to lose weight; but I figure I've earned the right to enjoy food. Have a good day.

I feel that way as well. Being pre-diabetic is a bit nerve-wracking though.

@celticeagle Yes, it is. So far I've dodged that bullet. Knock on wood.

The problem with that is if you don’t watch your diet you could be a full diabetes and have to take insulin injections. I watch my diet closely and my glucose is still a little high. I don’t want to stick a needle in my belly, besides the cost of insulin is outrageous.

It's good choice but I would recommend atleast you move or walk Abit to stretch your legs, get some sunshine and other kind of foods. Otherwise, enjoy your life
