If anyone knows what type of flower this is, please let me know. It's very pretty, white buds with shades of light blue on the outer edges. I'm not a flower person, even though I do enjoy their beauty. And I can recognize about ten different varieties by name, not too bad:) Roses, violets, pansies, snap dragons, mums, daisies, asters, daffodils, tulips, lilies My mother could make anything grow! Her flower beds were lovely each year. She knew every flower there is, but I didn't inherit that gift from her. She took good care of her flowers! Photo: MIne

I think those flowers in the picture are what my grandmother called 'snow balls'.

We had snowballs in the front yard, at our first home. They were solid white, but those come in different colors.

That is a hydrangea. You can get the blooms to change to a pink colour by changing the ph of the ground where the roots are. Blue is pretty though.

Thanks, Julia! I love the blue best of all. I've seen purple flowers, but never trimmed in blue:) They are my new, favorite flower!

I see that a myLoter has already told you it's a hydrangea. We have one just like it in our back yard and a different variety that's pretty too.

As others have said, it's a hydrangea. Many years ago, if you had pink ones, you could bury nails or iron shavings near them and then over a few years the flowers would turn blue. Of course, those that had blue ones were desperate to get pink ones! People are funny, aren't they?

I always knew them as "snowballs"; but I see that they are hydrangeas. Enjoy your day.

We had a snowball bush in our first yard. They were the white variety.

The search I did came up with hydrangea as the flower’s name. I’d just call it beautiful.

Beautiful flowers, I have seen these but am not sure what they are. I see you got the name of them. We had these growing in Latvia but not in our garden.
