Can you pre-reserve something?

I know that to reserve means that you do something that ensures you get it when the item is available.
But how do you pre-reserve something. You do something that helps you reserve the item later? Isn't that a double way of doing something by duplication - doubling the effort to get it?
Or is this an accepted word/phrase?

These phrases are nothing but to trap you to buy a new phone or product that you don't need immediately.

@pitstop That's true. That a tricky way of selling goods.

A lot of stores will allow you to pre-order something (in fact encourage it to get the early sales). Pre-reserve, could easily be the same as reserving or pre-ordering depending on the country in which you reside.

@pitstop Hard to say. When you translate words into other languages, some things get lost in translation.

You reserve something usually before it's available to the general public. Enjoy your day.

That's a really good question, I've never done anything like that before.
