It's a Wild, Wild World

It all started with a wallaby on the interstate in Kansas City a week ago. The poor thing was injured. I have not heard anything about owners yet.
Then there was the 15 foot albino python in Andover, Ks. Police and animal control captured it.The owner was found, but sadly the snake had to be euthanized due to injuries. That is the most I have heard about that situation.
Then this week there was an Emu on the loose in Topeka, Ks. The owner was quickly found though.
The most wild things we have in my part of the state are llamas. They do not get loose, they do not roam highways and neighborhoods. People keep a llama or two with their sheep or goats, because llamas will protect them. Llamas, it turns out, hate wild canids--dog like animals. People keep them to fend off coyotes, foxes, wolves and feral packs of dogs. I hear they get pretty mean with those animals. But I have seen that they tolerate farm and ranch dogs okay.
I do not know what it is about this year, but you never can tell what will turn up in the news.

I do not know either. The python was as big as some of the zoo specimens I have seen.

Pythons can become large enough to eat a person which is scary all the way around.

I always hate to hear that the animals were injured. Enjoy your day.

Me too! We put them in situations far beyond what they understand and can cope with.

I agree with that. More so as I get older.

We see loose animals sometimes. Most people try to keep them in

I guess these people tried as well, but did not try hard enough. There is even an exotic animal farm in another part of Kansas.
