Who Knew There Were Mini-Pumas in Virginia

This is the feline beast I spotted in our camp this morning. As you can see, it is clearly a miniature puma even if K insists it is a Siamese Cat. I only got a picture of it going away as it rose and sauntered off with unsettling confidence when I stepped out of the screen house.
I asked one of the camp staff if any campers had reported a missing cat. Some campers bring cats with them. The staff member indicated none had been reported that she was aware of, but she would report it to the main office.
My close encounter with a possibly feral feline was the most exciting thing to happen to me today. The rest of the day was rather relaxing.
How did your Monday turn out?

Pumas are not mini nor they look like a siamese cat. The owner will come up at some point.
I have been napping all afternoon after I went to the doctor in the morning and slept badly last night due to the quake.

@DWDavis The pumas we have in my country could kill a human being. And I think that our pumas are the same ones you have.

@marguicha Yes, pumas, what we also call mountain lions, can and have killed people. That is why I described the house cat-sized trespasser as a mini-puma. If it had been a full-size puma, I would not have hung around to take its picture.

Are you sure? It looked a lot like a puma in miniature to me, prowling through the grass that way.
The campground host told me the cat had only been seen over the last two or three days. It may belong to someone currently staying here. I just hope it wasn't left behind on purpose.

I am not much of a cat person. So I don't know what kind of cat it is. I live in Virginia.
Today I spent the morning trying to work out getting my mom a cell phone. This afternoon I cleaned some, myLotted some, watching TV, took out trash, got the mail. Now I am myLotting, watching TV and doing laundry.

So far, the day has been quiet. We do have severe storm warnings in our area for this evening/overnight, so we shall see what happens. (It has been almost as dark as night since about 6 pm when it usually stays full daylight until around 8:30 pm.)

@DWDavis Thanks. I hope not, too. There was some damage from the storms further away from us. I hope the storm is calming down by the time it reaches us.

Looks just like my kitty. I think you have a very strong imagination
.
I walked to town with my stepson to get parts for my car and they gave me the wrong ones but thankfully my husband was able to make do. I was having mini anxiety attacks thinking he wouldn’t be able to get it fixed in time and I have to drive him two hours one way tomorrow for his eye surgery and there is no way I could drive his truck there instead. I would have a full on anxiety attack.

So far, so good with me. No pumas, though.

@DWDavis — I guess it went okay. The doctor wasn’t grossed out.
I got to sleep through it, so I had the easy part.

I don't think they are. This one was very standoffish. The camp host told me the cat I saw is one of several feral cats living in the park. They are probably housecats that have been abandoned and have learned to survive off of the squirrels and other small game in the woods here.

Siamese can be mean and nasty. I once babysat for a friend and he had I think two siamese cats and they were very mean. Here in Israel I had pets so once when my hair dresser I had at the time was cutting hair in her mother's apartment her mother's siamese cat came up to me and it was like she could see inside my soul. She felt I was fine and wanted me to pet her. I think because I had a cat at home she knew I was ok.

Someone needs to adopt that mini puma. My Monday was OK. Nothing much going on here. Enjoy your day.

@LindaOHio Winters are mostly mild in our part of NC. It's been a couple of years since we had any significant snow. This last winter, we didn't have any accumulation, just some flurries in the air that didn't stick around.
