Micah, an Old Friend of Mine

It's common for a small child to have a favorite toy. For many, it's a stuffed animal that brings them comfort, such as a special doll or a cuddly Teddy bear. For Kharla, it was a tiny rubber doll, that I carried around for years, in one of my hands or inside a pocket. Yes, I talked to this doll often, "Micah" was my best friend:) When my mother passed away in 2013, I was shocked to find out that Mom still had this doll! It was tucked away in a dresser drawer, where she kept all her valued memories. Yes, her other three children got something, too. Fond memories, that caused us to tear up! Moms can be very sentimental, that's for sure Photo: Mine

What a wonderful reminder. It makes the heart happy she held so much affection for her daughter that she kept this tiny toy. It makes my eyes tear up!

My sister had an old iron stove. It wasn't very big, it sat on a table. The burners and various parts could be removed, it had a tiny oven with a latch. On one side there were utensils hung, a bucket and a tiny shovel to pretend like we were adding coal. We had hours of fun, with that stove!

It's good she kept it as a keepsake and now you have it again.

@kobesbuddy I'm sorry she suffered from it too.

My mother was abused by her grandmother. Because if this, she felt bad about herself. That's why she suffered from depression, for quite a while. Nobody said she was depressed, I know for a fact she was.

Sentimental is the word. And they remember things we had long forgotten.

I hadn't forgotten this doll, but never tried to find out where it had gone.

That doll was a nice friend for you to have. I had a boy doll named Jonny. A lady gave it to me when our duplex caught on fire. This was when we lived in Japan. I had that doll for over fifty years until it became rotten and fell apart.

I had a tiny doll like this once and made her a bed in a matchbox. Mothers are very precious, that's for sure.

She was thoughtful to keep this doll, for so many years.
