Thanks to the actions of a couple who were driving their auto on a road in Forrest County in Mississippi last Friday who saw a camel outside of his home that is owned by a farmer who owns zebras and bison. The last name of the farmer who owns the camel who went outside to take a walk is McMurray even though his first name was not mentioned. Forrest County Sheriff's Office Deputies Jared Hagan and his partner Lieutenant Troy Russell were able to corral the camel with Jared using his hat to attract the attention of the camel who was corralled by the deputy and returned to his home safe and sound. At first when I saw the headline I thought that camels live in deserted places. Not in Mississippi. Link is upi.com/9471689712962 via @upi

That was quite a first sentence. As BS said, you don't see camels out and about much in the US cities.

It is very unusual for camels to be seen in a farm in Mississippi since on television shows they are seen in deserts.

It is very odd for a camel to be in the countryside of Mississippi.

You don't hear about too many camels in the US outside of zoos. I'm glad they got him back home.

You wouldn't expect zebras in Mississippi either. Sounds like the guy has a mini-zoo of sorts.

The owner of the farm does own a farm for exotic animals.

There are some folks around here who own petting zoos. I am thinking that is what Mr. McMurray may have as well. You're right a camel in Mississippi seems odd. Glad the officers were able to get him back home safely.

I do know of some celebrities and rich people who do own farms with exotic animals.

These owners need to have a better fence or something. There are too many animals out wandering around; and one is going to get hurt.

I am in agreement with you that owners of farms need to have tougher security measures in place since an animal that runs loose on the streets can get hurt.

People sure do like to take ownership of exotic animals, don’t they? I am glad the camel is okay.

I remember the late singer Michael Jackson loved exotic pets as well as some circus performers that own exotic animals as their pets.
