Cactus lily / myLot

One sees a cactus in bloom rarely and when it does it surprises every one. Most flowers of the cactus are pretty and some resemble flowers that bloom on ordinary plants such as roses I came across this image that has a cactus with flowers that resemble lilies. We have lilies in our garden and the ones in the image match those that bloom on our lily plants How amazing nature is. I am sure you are amazed too. Do you have cactus in your garden or have you seen a cactus in bloom? Any pictures to share?

They are truly beautiful. I don't recall ever seeing cactus in bloom.

I had a cactus bloom once, when I was a child. I took it to show and tell at school, and I was so proud of it.

You deserved to be proud as cacti do not bloom that easily Do you remember what colour or shape it was?

@allknowing I believe it was a prickly pear cactus bloom, and I remember it being yellow. It was near the end of the school year when I was seven, and I carried that thing around like it was pure gold. I had some major stings with hitting the spines. Those things hurt, and when you're a kid, you aren't as careful with them as you should be. At least, I wasn't. It had three different "arms", but I don't think I'm describing it well at all. It was the only one I ever had.
