Today is the 15th of August and it's our 77th Independence day. We experienced a lot of changes in these long years from childhood to oldage. We are living in a digital world with lot of modern comforts no doubt but the sense of insecurity is increasing day by day especially for the younger generation.
Inflation, food prices hike, natural and man made disaster are some of the issues that still need to be tackled.
For me celebration at my son's apartment was watch tiny tots dressed in tricolor shashes with white attire walking towards the flag hoisting and coming back munching sweets.
We had a few drops of rain. Let this signify better life in the coming years in India.
Happy Independence Day.

I enjoyed it staying at home watching tiny tots dressed in white and the tricolor shash going to attend the function in the apartment. I made a special lunch to mark the day.

Independence... What a great word which goes so well with "happy." It denotes feelings of freedom, pride, joy, and good fortune.
There will always be problems of some kind in the world, but to be free of someone's control is indeed something to celebrate!

You are right. In an independent country we have a right to protest against injustice which we won't have when we are ruled by some other country.
