I lost my crown

Actually, I lost in on Friday just past noon. As K and I were leaving to go shopping, I felt something between my cheek and gum. It was my temporary crown. Around here, every dentist I know of is closed on Friday. So, I waited until yesterday to call. The good news is that my permanent crown arrived. I have an appointment at 10:30 this morning to get recrowned. I don't know why the temporary crown came off. I hope the permanent crown really turns out to be permanent. That's my plan for this morning. What are you up to today?

That will be a relief to get taken care of, finally. I remember my temporary crown coming off, and being annoyed that I paid money for something so useless. No dental insurance will do that to a person. Heck, WITH dental insurance it still might make you feel that level of annoyance.

Dental insurance is comparatively expensive and offers the least coverage compared to regular health insurance or vision insurance.

@AmbiePam The private school I taught at had vision coverage as a standard part of our insurance package. Now that I'm retired, I can get coverage through the state retirees' health plan.

That’s not good. Pain, money, discomfort, money, inconvenience, and money. I think (personal opinion) temporary crowns aren’t put on very well so the dentist doesn’t have to spend any time getting it off.

The good news was my permanent crown arrived on Monday. On Tuesday, it was installed and I didn't have to worry about my temp crown anymore.

Oh you too huh? That just happened to me DW too. I got the temporary on..but that assistant didnt put near enough adhesive and so it fell out the next day..luckily they had time to put it back on..but another assistant did it correctly..now the other real crown hasn't come in yet but I go in to get it done on the 28th.

I am glad to know you will be recrowned soon. I had a permanent crown who used to come off. I found a better dentist and never moved again.

@DWDavis I had my permanent crown fixed in 1999 and still there and never moved. That dentist is expensive, but really great.

I read the other day that down in the Keys ocean temps were getting close to 100F. That's hard to imagine.

Sorry about your crown. My dentist is trying to convince me to get two of them; but I'm protesting. Not too much going on here. I hope you have a good day and that your permanent crown stays in place.

@DWDavis One of the crowns he wants to do is for a root canal. I guess eventually I will have to have it done.

Today I got two of my Amazon orders. I did some Christmas shopping. I got a calendar for my best friend. I got some cat bowls for boyfriend's kitten. I'm waiting on a calendar for me and some more foot pads to put in my shoes.
