Way to hot

Good day to you all, hope you are all doing fine.
So, I mentioned before that I hate the hot weather and today is really pushing my limit to being really crabby about the weather.
I know some of you live in much warmer places so maybe I shouldn’t complain about it too much. Well, there is a reason I live in the Midwest USA. I live up here where we are known for our cold winters, but our summers can get quite warm at times. This is one of those times.
The last few days have been very warm and today is no different. As of right now we are at 99F (37C) and they say it feels like 118F (47.7C). The humidity is thick today and with next to no breeze it is not nice to be outside at all today.
I’m done being outside for the day. I got the air conditioning on full blast and will be staying in out of the sun. That heat takes all the energy right out of me. Hope any of you dealing with this are staying cool and drinking lots of water.

When it comes to drinking water, I'm real bad. I however am staying cool. So is my husband and cat who wants to be a sun spot.I plan to go out soon, so Chilly will have to wait. Still love him, though.

@Bensen32 I have to use something like cirkul to even consider drinking water. And, even then, I don't.

@kaylachan I use those flavor additives to make it a little better but still have to force myself to drink it.

Welcome to what Florida feels like at least 6 months out of the year, and sometimes more! It sucks. I don’t like seeing anyone have to deal with this heat.

@Bensen32 I don't know why I live in a place like that either. I hate the heat. We still have at least 2 more months of oppressive heat here before we can even think about relief. And based on how this year has been going already with record heat, I'm afraid we won't have much of a cool down at all. I'm willing to bet it will still be hot as hell here in November and December.

@moffittjc Yeah, that is not good. Although they are saying a pretty cool/cold winter this year for most of the US. So who knows what that means for you.

I'm in the Midwest, too, and agree that it's just too hot here. I'm in the lower part of Missouri and the RealFeel here is 111F right now. I just turned the air down a few more degrees. My bedroom was 82F when I woke up a little while ago. (Humidity is "only" at 58% right now. 
)

@Bensen32 The temp should drop into the mid-80s this weekend. We're looking forward to that.
Our house has large windows on the West side so the heat streams in when the sun starts going down. I've even put up blackout curtains but they can only do so much.

@DaddyEvil they are saying we should get down into the high 70's so pretty happy about that.
My windows face to the south so I get lots of sunshine and yes, I have the same. I have 2 sets of blackout curtains on each window to really block out that light. As you say they do only so much to keep out the heat.

The weather in my area is very hot with extreme heat around 101 degrees F with smoke in the air as well as rain coming this evening which should cool down the humidity.

@Bensen32 I am also hoping that the weather gets cooler since a storm that is in the Gulf Of Mexico that is going toward Florida early next week that could give my area some well needed rain.

It's so awful and this weather makes me very crappy and moody to the part when I had to be placed on medication for it. I have what you call SAD..
Please do what you can to stay cool and yes plenty of water, even tho it gets hot fast...is 114° with humidity today.

That sounds really hot. I'm used to hot temperatures because I reside in a tropical country. However, too much heat will be intolerable for me.
