In 2016 at the Hong Kong-based Hanson Robotics, a humanoid type robot was developed as a social companion. She is the first robot to receive legal personhood in any country. She was granted citizenship in Saudi Arabia in October 2017. She is able to mimic social behavior and induce feelings in humans. She can recognize many languages, display life-like facial expressions, and express a wide range of sophisticated and sensitive emotions as well as being equipped with features for visual tracking and facial recognition. She is the first robot innovation Ambassador for the United Nations Development Program. As well as her role as an ambassador she has appeared on such television shows as The Tonight Show and Good Morning Britain. She has spoken at hundreds of conferences around the world. She is a positive symbol of hope and curiosity in the continued vision of Artificial Intelligence. Picture courtesy of lostisland.com

@celticeagle It was evident that the interviewer knew what to ask because she was programmed to answer a certain number of questions. It made me sad watching this fake human imitating humans but being so "fake".

Donna Anderson wrote a short series of books (4) with one of the main characters being an AI entity named Turing Hopper. I'm sure "she" would love to "move in" to "Sophia".

I thought so too. I guess there a lot more than just her and they do all sorts of things.
