Beef hotdogs and farm fresh eggs

Another week has passed. We're looking forward to another long weekend (thanks to FIBA World Cup). We drive back to the country later this afternoon. I'm still under the weather and dealing with cough and colds. I'm hoping to get better while we stay at the biggie house until Monday. I wish I didn't have to be sick. I've got plenty of things to do. But I guess a prolonged rest is called for. Today is Friday and this is when I usually do a quick fridge inventory. I found a large pack of beef hotdogs that have been lingering in the chiller for like a week already. (I might have taken it out of the freezer while I was cleaning and defrosting.) I fried all the hotdogs and packed some for the husband's breakfast which he'll take to his office. I also made eggs over-easy for the four of us. I'm loving these farm fresh eggs that I bought from a guy who lives on the 18th floor of this building. His family owns a farm in Batangas where these eggs are from. He would notify us at our Viber group chat when there's delivery for the week. They're delicious and cheaper than grocery eggs. I ordered a tray yesterday morning and Ed (the egg seller) came down to our unit in less than 5 minutes. Awesome. I may no longer have to walk to the market just to get eggs. It's 8:17 a.m. and I feel like heading back to bed again. I'm not sleepy but my body's got the bug so it's got to be horizontal in between chores and errands. (And, OMG, how can this low-calorie Swiss Miss be super sweet!? I should probably go back to my genmaicha tea.) Have a good weekend, myLot friends! I hope to myLot some more when able.

All of a sudden I'm in the mood for eggs! I'm sorry to hear you are feeling under the weather though.

@almostoveryou I love deviled eggs, but simple scrambled eggs are awfully tasty.

@AmbiePam I've yet to try deviled eggs. I love most egg dishes! This morning I taught my 13 y.o. daughter to make a different kind of omelet. This one's stuffed with leftovers: sliced ham, fresh mushrooms, cheddar cheese, and celery. It was good!

I'm feeling better now, thank you. How do you like your eggs? I've always liked the over easy kind but marinated boiled eggs are good too.

I hope you can take plenty of rest this weekend. It really does suck to feel sick and still need to do chores around the house. Feel better soon.

Thanks, DE. Feeling much better now (after a bit of shopping therapy, LOL). We're having lots of rain lately because of Typhoon Goring. There's no wind signal over here but the temps have been cooler which is a good thing.

@almostoveryou You're welcome. I'm glad you're feeling better. We've been having excessive heat warnings in our part of the US. The temps have been 38C every day or higher with a RealFeel of 48C part of the time. That heat wave is supposed to break tonight and we'll have days that top out at 27C for a week, which will be nice! (It's raining today and is supposed to rain again tomorrow, too. Last weekend we had over 127 mm of rain in two days. There were flash flood warnings here. Luckily my are didn't flood.)

@DaddyEvil Good to know you're safe where you are and that lower temps are expected. My sister in Calgary says the BC fires and hot temps may last until the Fall. Oh dear! I hope those rains in your area offer some relief. Flash floods are scary though.

Good for you - for having access to farm fresh eggs. For sure they are better than store-bought ones, and definitely much cheaper too. I hope you feel better soon.

I'm actually surprised that they're cheaper 'coz if you buy organic farm eggs at market stalls, they tend to be more pricey.

Good idea to fry all the hotdogs, so they are not wasted. Farm fresh eggs are the best, their taste so much different from the store bought.

@almostoveryou - My grandmother had a farm with chickens, hens and ducks. I remember how much better the taste of eggs was. The size depended by the breed of the hens, some laid big eggs.

We used to have backyard hens that laid eggs. The eggs were small compared to grocery eggs but they taste a lot better, especially the yolks. We had so much leftover hotdogs. I put them in the ref and will probably add them to pasta later.
