That Rejuvenating Drink

Water actually sustains us, while nourishing and rejuvenating us. I quit drinking water late in the evening hoping this will help me not have to get up several times during the night. I find that in the morning when I again drink a good amount, I can actually feel it going down and nourishing different areas as it goes. It is easy to overlook drinking the amount we need to each and every day but, there are some times during the day that it is most advantageous to drink and perhaps get in the habit of quenching our thirsts at these times. First thing in the morning is a great time to quench your thirst and can set the tone for what follows. As well as activating the body's internal organs it also stimulates the digestive system. It gives a kick start to the metabolism and is an aid in flushing toxins that may have accumulated overnight. What a great start to your day! Drinking water about 30 minutes before a meal can both moisten the digestive tract and prepare the stomach for digestion. Helping the food to move more smoothly enhances nutrient absorption and reduces the burden on the digestive organs. It also may help you from overeating for it can make you feel rather full. The feeling of fatigue can sometimes be a sign of mild dehydration. Drinking a glass of water can be a refreshment to the mind and re-energize the body. Drinking water during exercise can improve performance by combatting dehydration. It helps to regulate body temperature, allows the body to recover quickly, and supports muscle function. In a stressful situation water may not be your first thought but, since dehydration can be a factor in cognitive function sipping some water can help to give you pause, time to regain your composure, and to reflect giving you more of an ability to clearer thinking during these times. Headaches may disrupt our focus and comfort. Water can also help to relieve the symptoms and can give immediate natural relief.

I need to drink more water, but there is always a time when I get sick and tired of its taste. So I would dry fruit-infused water or those flavored-water packets to add flavor and variety to my water. I just need to be mindful that these have no sugar or any other preservatives.

Yes, and just adding some of those can help you be more apt to get the amount of water you need. Your organs will thank you.

I haven't tried anything new in the milk department- just regular milk. Milk doesn't replace water.

Water is my only drink during the day, often with a slice of lemon in it.

It sure is. I think that's one reason I enjoy the rain so much. I enjoy the sound of it and the smell.

I'm really bad about drinking water. I just don't like it; and I've tried the drops and other additions. I have been doing better the past couple of days. Thanks for the tips. Enjoy your Sunday.
