My Neighbors Moving

I finely found my downstairs neighbor at home. After my water leak I knew she would have a lot of damage and she did. She said her ceiling was soaking wet and all her belongings. She had rented another apartment and was in the process of moving. She found an apartment in the next complex so her children won’t have to change schools but they will ride another bus. There was no way I could prevent it but I still bad about the damage to her apartment.The water leak came from my apartment. I was lucky to have only a little damage. She said after she was settled in the new apartment she’d come back for a visit. I hope the next renters that move in down there will be half as nice as she is. I couldn’t have asked for a better neighbor.

I hope the repairs they'll need to do to that apartment won't take too long, you could end up with no downstairs neighbors for a while.

It’s so much damage. I don’t know how long it will take. I know it’s not a quick fix. She moved the last of her things yesterday. I don’t expect to have such a good neighbor again.

What an unfortunate situation. There's really nothing that you could have done to prevent it, water is a force to be reckon with. Glad to hear that they don't have to move too far, and she'll still be able to visit with you.

It’s not far at all and it’s a quiet place with all the facilities. The children don’t have to change schools, so I think they’ll like it.

@RubyHawk They do here mostly..get ready except for the carpets..yeah of course if it is water damage that will probably take someone else you are right Ruby.

Oh, what a mess for you both. It’s a shame she had so much damage. Hopefully, she had renter’s insurance. Fingers crossed she comes back to visit since she’s been so great. It’s always a little tense when a good neighbor moves out, and you’re unsure of who might be moving in.

We all have renters insurance, so she’s okay there. It will likely be a couple of months before the apartment is completed so it will be awhile before new renters move in.

What happened that she had so much water coming from your apartment? I know that this happened to my Mom and it costed a fortune to repair the damages. The insurance reimbursed.

@RubyHawk Those accidents unfortunately happen. The tap of my washing machine broke in Monte Carlo and I found the floor flooded in the morning. The house was an old stone house and nothing leaked down.

The water leak came from my kitchen. There was not a sign of leakage when I went to bed but when the maintenance man came in next morning my kitchen floor was flooded. It ran straight down to her apartment.

@LadyDuck I really don’t know how water leaks down here. Our floors are cement. But leak It does. Maybe it goes down the pipe line.

She can’t live down there with the ceiling ready to fall in. She was lucky to find an apartment where the kids didn’t have to change schools.Its the only school they’ve gone to.

@RubyHawk You’re very lucky that she is friendly and understanding. Thankfully, the girl that lived under me was very nice and undertvwhen my water heater broke and flooded her apartment.

@moffittjc Apartment flooding seems to be a common occurrence. This is the third time my apartment was flooded since I’ve lived here. We had to move out twice for the ceiling to be replaced. They did get thr ceiling in quickly.

I'm sorry the water leak caused her to need to move. I'm sure it's for the best. This way the management can fully repair her ceiling and the damage done by the water. I love your picture.

My damage was slight but her ceiling is a soggy mess. I’m sure they’ll be okay in the new apartment.

They probably hire contractors to to that type of work.It can’t be rented until it’s repaired.
